Pressure is mounting on presidential candidate Barack Obama to denounce his former musical advisor Kanye West. Controversial rapper West, who’s 2005 album Late Registration is on Obama’s i-Pod, is currently in hot water for a lyric from the song “Heard ‘Em Say” in which West says: “…and I know the government administered AIDS…”

“I was not aware of the lyrics of that song until recently,” said Mr. Obama. When asked if he’d heard other lyrics that were as offensive, Obama said he’d heard some things that were probably offensive, but couldn’t really make out exactly what was being said. “I listen to the music for the rhythm, not the words,” he said.

After first giving West “the benefit of the doubt” because his “beats were just that sick,” it appeared Mr. Obama had put the issue behind him, but in light of Mr. West’s (produced) recent lame anti-DeShawn Stevenson rap, pundits feel he must more forcefully distance himself from Mr. West.

“I sure wouldn’t own any of that ‘music’, ellllghhh,” said Hillary Clinton.
